You see, "The Vagabonds" are doing a residency at Smith's on Tuesday nights in The Atlanta Room. Every week we are lining up four additional guest songwriters to do a few of their own songs, and last night we had Clay Cook, Nick Neispidsioni, Herb Jones and Gareth Asher. What a great time.
So I had an early meeting this morning with some of the folks from Camp Jam. It looks like I'm going to be trying my hand at bringing some creative energy into the corporate environment doing something so strange I don't think I can really explain it without getting too wordy. But the point is they have also brought in superstar songwriter Jim Peterik. This guy has had an amazing career. Tons of hits under his belt.
As our meeting started to wrap up, of course I took an opportunity to mention last nights show and how amazing it was. When I was explaining what The Vagabonds are all about, I mentioned that one of the things I love about it is they let me play my trumpet. Upon hearing that Mr. Peterik insested that I come sit in on a song he was performing for the kids over at Camp Jam. The song is called "Vehicle" and it was originally recorded by the band Traffic with Steve Winwood. Not bad huh.
See you soon.
